Most of us are probably familiar with the Bible verse -
It is more blessed to give than to receive. (Acts 20:35) But, how can that be?
According to How to Manage Your Money there are 3 main benefits for the giver:
When we give to the Lord, our hearts will grow closer to Him.
Do you want to know God better? Then, trust what it says in Mathew and give Him some of your treasure.
We are investing in our eternal account, treasures that we will enjoy later on.
Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Matthew 6:20
Are you going to heaven? Then you'll want to have some treasures there. You can't take things with you when you go. However, you can earn rewards that will be waiting for you in heaven.
When we give to the Lord, He gives us more resources - for our own needs and for others.
Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. 2 Corinthians 9:6
If you show the Lord that you are responsible in giving Him some of your treasure and spending your money wisely, He will trust you with the ability to handle more money. We may get more, when we prove that we can give more.
