Monday's Ministry - New Year's Resolutions

It's that time of year where people make New Year's Resolutions. This year, how about committing to some spiritual resolutions - one's that will help you grow as a Christian.

Here are some spiritual resolution ideas:

  • Be a missionary right where you are: in your neighborhood, school, and church.
  • Include Jesus in all parts of your life.
  • Remove spiritually negative influences on your life: bad TV shows, bad music, and the "wrong" friends.
  • Serve God every day.
  • Pray to follow God's Will for your life, to fulfill the goals that He has for you.
  • Forgive people when they hurt your feelings.
  • Let your Christian light shine. Ask yourself - What would Jesus do?
  • Appreciate and pray for Pastors and other church workers.
  • Learn from your mistakes and grow spiritually.
  • Base your decisions on what the Bible says, instead of what the world says is OK.
  • Have patience with everyone in your life: family members, friends, people at church and school.
  • Be thankful to God for: His unconditional love, how He takes care of you, and how He guides you.
I started something new this year and you might want to do it, too.

Every morning, I ask Jesus this simple question:

What do You want me to do today, Jesus? Please show me.

We don't have to wait until we are older and smarter to live in God's Will. Jesus can use us now. He can give us opportunities to serve Him and help other people everyday.

How to Become a Child of God

If you want to become a child of God you can:

  • thank Jesus for dying on the cross
  • ask Him to forgive you for sinning
  • tell Him that you want to accept His gift of salvation
  • tell Him that you want to follow Him and make Him Lord of your life
